Malfunction

John McGowan and Chris Laverty and have been so since March 1976. Starting life as a trio with Bass player Dave Ashton and becoming a duo in 1981 we have been singing an eclectic mix of songs from a variety of artists ever since. Lifting our material from 60s and 70s pop and folk as well as country music and even the Rolling Stones we also feature lesser known songs from stalwarts of the folk scene. Anthing that can be played on two guitars with an occassional bit of mandolin thrown in and featuring two voices which are now dropping a bit with age!

Although many of the songs are "stories" there is also plenty of opportunity to sing along to classics if you are around our age!!

The History link gives you the chance to find out how we met and formed Malfunction and how the name came about. Probably of more interest to us than anybody else but its been theraputic to write it down!

For those of you who are into guitars, amplifiers, gear and other electronic bits, the Equipment link lists what we play and use on stage. We own a decent P.A. which has got us plenty of gigs in the past!
